Lucy Liu is an American actress voice actress director producer, and singer. Beautiful, intelligent and gifted actress, she is an model for Asian actors who want to become big names in Hollywood. The early successes of her were boosted by her appearance on a few popular shows. There, she portrayed the villainous Ling Woo. In the wake of her popularity, she was offered important parts for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese crime lord O-Ren Shii. In addition, she played lead roles in box office failures such as Rise: Blood Hunter. In later years, she worked as an actor in voice in animated films, including Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's part on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen production, didn't yield positive results. Southland, the critically-acclaimed drama police show that Liu played in on a regular basis, was a role which helped to reestablish she is renowned as an actress. Liu picks her roles wisely to avoid becoming typecast in such a competitive field. Though she has embraced her roots she has not let it limit her as an artist.
